A Gift to Warm Our Hearts - and Our Seedlings!
Despite an unusually cold and snowy February, we’re already looking forward to planting some items in our garden - thanks to the ingenuity and generosity of one young man!
After our new planters were built around the cloister walkways and Holy Family Wing, we were thinking of a way to start fragile seedlings and early-spring plants (e.g. lettuce and spinach) without danger of frost. Enter Jason, who was looking for a project to help him towards his Eagle Scout Award. A mutual friend put him in touch with us, and soon he was out here to measure the planters for custom-made “greenhouse” covers!
A couple of weeks ago, Jason and his “team” arrived to install the finished product. They look great, and we’re eager to try them out! Please join us in saying a little prayer for Jason and all his needs, in thanksgiving for his generosity to us.
Enjoy some photos of installation day!
