Another Friend of St. Gabriel!
After many years of correspondence with John Schweska, author of the wonderful book on St. Gabriel Possenti, At the Cross With Mary, we were pleased to finally meet John in person! He presented some reflections on St. Gabriel for our Passionist Oblates on Saturday, March 7, and gave two conferences for the nuns on the same topic the following Sunday. It was an enriching experience for our monthly retreat Sunday; John’s prayerful spirit and zeal for our holy Passionist brother truly blessed us.
And, as if it weren’t enough that we are about to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Passionist charism, the 250th anniversary of the Passionist nuns’ foundation, the 75th anniversary of our monastery’s foundation, and the 25th anniversary of our relocation to our current home in Whitesville, this year is also the 100th anniversary of St. Gabriel’s canonization! May he intercede for us and all the needs of the Passionist familiy around the world in this special time of jubilees.
