Marthas and Marys

Spring Retreat 2024

Beginning tomorrow (April 23rd), our first group of Sisters will begin their annual 8-day retreat. As we’ve shared before, we like to refer to the nuns on retreat as “Marys,” while those who take on extra duties to allow for this are called “Marthas.” (cf. Luke 10:38-42) The roles will swap for the second retreat, which falls in mid-May this year.

Unlike the Biblical sisters, however, our Marthas and Marys both strive to keep a recollected heart and mind! Please say a prayer for all as we enter into this sacred and precious time of the year, and know that we — Marys and Marthas alike — are praying for you.

P.S. — Sister Webmistress is among the first group of Marys, so don’t be concerned if you don’t see any activity on the blog for a while! :)
