A Gift for Our Lady
Our new postulant and new Directress, under the loving and watchful eyes of Mother Mary
Some happy news from the St. Joseph Monastery novitiate: on August 15th, the Solemnity of Our Lady’s Assumption into Heaven, our aspirant Collette officially entered the postulancy!
We give thanks to God for Collette’s openness to His Will, and we hope you’ll join us in praying for her and her family as she takes this next step in formation and discernment, living in the monastery and experiencing Passionist contemplative life full-time as a postulant.
“The postulancy prepares the candidates for entry to the novitiate, helping them to acquire gradually the spiritual and psychological dispositions as also the human and affective maturity necessary for contemplative life. It further provides them with the possibility to discern more clearly their own vocation through the immediate experience of Passionist life.” ~ Constitutions of the Passionist Nuns, #99
We know that we can count on you to keep our other novitiate members in your prayers - our novice, Sr. Isabel Maria, and our three aspirants - as well as the many young women who contact us to explore a possible Passionist vocation. And of course pray for our Vocation Directress, Sr. Cecilia Maria, and our new Novice Directress, Sr. Maria Faustina, as they handle the happy “problem” of accompanying all these courageous souls who are seeking the Lord’s Will for their lives!
Since we’re talking about the novitiate … Although they’re not novitiate members properly speaking, our cats Josē and Nico are also under Sr. Maria Faustina’s care, so enjoy a few kitty buddy photos for good measure :)
