Customs is our fourth theme of monastic practices I want to share with you during this Year of Consecrated Life.

Here are a few of our monastic customs

  • Our communal penitential practice of praying with our arms extended for 5 minutes 3 or 4 days per week
  • Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament all mornings on Fridays to spend time consoling and thanking our Lord Jesus for his total self-gift for our redemption
  • Communal praying of the Stations of the Cross on Friday mornings
  • Gaudeamus Days ("rejoicing" days - free from silence all day, except during prayer time) on Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Superior's and Vicar's Feast Days, Silver and Golden Jubilees and just anytime the Superior deems it necessary to give the sisters a Gaudeamus Day!
