Pope Francis: Rest in Peace

Eternal Rest Grant unto him, o LORD …

Our Easter rejoicing this year is tinged with a note of sadness.

Before our 7 AM Mass yesterday morning, we learned with sorrow that our Holy Father had passed away in Rome. We were able to offer that day’s Mass for the repose of his soul, and we join the Catholic world in mourning and praying for the eternal rest of the 266th successor of St. Peter.

Our Founder always had a special love for the Pope, and he passed on this legacy to the Passionist family. As faithful daughters of the Church and of St. Paul of the Cross, we will have a special Mass and Office of the Dead offered for Pope Francis on Monday, April 28th. If you’re in the area, you are invited to join us - all prayer times are as usual in our daily liturgy schedule.

May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
