Snow Day(s)!
As contemplatives, we strive to see God’s love in all things - and some days, this is easier than others. We recently had an unusual amount of snowfall for our area … so unusual that it merited not one, but TWO free afternoons to enjoy this Epiphanytide gift from our Divine Bridegroom!
With the construction of the Holy Family Wing, we were concerned that our usual sledding hill behind the monastery would no longer be usable. Thankfully, however, all we had to do was change our paths a bit and get used to a few more bumps from the newly-terraced hill. (For some Sisters, these “air ramps” just added to the fun!!)
As temperatures rose, the snow was perfect for packing, which could mean only one thing: SNOWMEN! Or rather, Snow-St.-Michael-Slaying-the-Dragon. Or, depending on who you ask, The-Snow-Statue-of-Liberty-Slaying-the-Very-Hungry-Snow-Caterpillar. Whatever you call it, this sculpture was quite a workout to assemble, and the results were striking, if nothing else!!
You may notice some newer faces in these photos as well … in addition to the snow, the Lord has gifted us with the presence of several vocation visitors this New Year. Two of our aspirants, Alexandra and Collette, are making their 3-month live-in visit - an important time of discernment and discovery as they explore Passionist life more deeply. Also featured in the photos is discerner Abby, who arrived for her 10-day live-in visit around the same time. Please pray for these young ladies and for all of those considering a vocation with our community, that the good Lord may guide them according to His holy Will!
